What We Believe:
Word and Sacrament

We believe, teach and  confess that Jesus Christ, True God and True Man, is the one true hope that we sinners have for eternal salvation. We confess that the Bible is God’s Holy  Word, the utmost authority for faith and life. We confess that the Sacraments- Baptism, Confession, and the Lord’s Supper, are God’s tangible word and means of grace, where God  forgives, heals, and restores his sinful people. We, His people, are His unique creation, who are  sinful from conception and in need of forgiveness of sins.  Jesus died for our sins and now frees an enables us as his forgiven people to have peace, joy and love for others!

Sacraments

We believe that the Holy Spirit "calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies the whole Christian church" by means of the Gospel of our Lord - which is the forgiveness of our sins through Christ's death on the cross.

Forgiveness of sins is offered through the Means of Grace, which are the Gospel- God's Holy written or spoken Word, and the Sacraments-tangible, earthly elements that God has joined in a sacred act -notably, Baptism and The Lord's Supper.

Baptism, The Lord's Supper and Holy Absolution are often called "the Means of Grace" because it is through these tangible elements that God is giving His gifts of forgiveness, life and salvation, in The Lord's Supper, the bread and wine in with and under the body and blood of Our Lord, and in baptism the water and the Word.

These Means of Grace are not a presentation offered up for our consideration, rather they are God's Word fulfilling it's promise and delivering salvation.

The Lord’s Supper, or the Sacrament of Holy Communion, is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as he says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but his very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with him and with one another. Our Lord invites to his table baptized individuals who trust his words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as he forgives and loves us, that they may show forth his death until he comes.

Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at the altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the sacrament, should refrain from taking communion until speaking with the Pastor.
